This project has been designed to display Speedometer along with Odometer using microcontroller.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

  Here we are going to construct “Microcontroller based Speedometer –cum – Odometer” for general motorbike. This project uses a microcontroller, an LCD display and some commonly available components. It is a better alternative to the mechanical speedometer and even a beginner with minimal skill level can assemble it.
The features of this project are;
1.    Digital readout
2.    Speed display in km/hour
3.    Distance traveled displayed in kilometers
4.    Readings saved in non-volatile memory (EEPROM)
5.    No mechanical wear and tear
6.    Easy to built and fix onto the bike.

Ø  A Cross compiler for compiling and linking the code written for AT89C51.
Ø  Serial communication software for downloading code to AT89C51.
Ø  Operating system: Windows XP.
