PATIENT MONITORING SYSTEM USING SENSOR NETWORK BASED ON THE ZIGBEE RADIO

Abstract:

In these days of u-healthcare, for convenient monitoring of biological parameters, the wireless communication technique is necessary.

 There are some standard techniques such as Bluetooth, wireless LAN, Zigbee etc. used in the recording of patients details

We have tested these techniques for Patient details networking and summarize the advantages and the disadvantages. As a result we decided the ZigBee radio as sensor network of patients in the hospital.

We developed this patient monitoring system which has several biological parameters. Especially, this system has ability of patient's parameter monitoring in the hospital. In this project in order to record patient’s details repeatedly we using RFID tags which shows complete profile of the patients biological parameters. Whenever patients expose their cards in a RFID field, complete details are displayed in a computer.
